    Google News
    Google News aggregates headlines from news sources worldwide, groups similar stories together and displays them according to your personalized interests. Use Google News to search for news from the last couple of months.

    1. Go to
    2. Type any keyword in the box and click the magnifying glass to search.
  3. Customize your Google News page

    The Google News page consists of Top Stories and eight standard sections: World, U.S., Business, Science, Technology, Entertainment, Sports and Health. To add custom sections to your Google News page, follow these instructions:

    1. Go to
    2. Click Personalize in the upper right corner of the page to expand a list of news topics that appear on the Google News page.

    3. Type keywords of interest in the text box below the list of current sections and click +.
    4. Your new section will appear in the list. Use the slider to select how frequently you'll read news in that section.

    5. Click Save to see your updated news sections. Note: there is currently a limit of 20 sections or news topics, including custom sections. To add a different topic or custom section when you have reached 20, remove one of your other topics or custom sections.
  4. Create Google Alerts

    Google Alerts are email updates of the latest relevant Google results (web, news, etc.) based on your choice of query or topic.

    1. Visit
    2. Enter the topic you wish to monitor in the Search terms box.
    3. Click Preview results to the right of the Search terms box to see the type of results you'll receive.
    4. When you are ready to set up your alert, select your preferences from these four menus:
      • Type of Google Alert (news, blogs, videos, etc.)
      • How often
      • Volume
      • Deliver to (your email address will auto-populate in the box once you are signed in to your Google Account)
    5. Click Enter to create your alert.
